Essay
What would you do if your father was responsible for the murder of your mother? Would you keep it quiet, or would you speak to the authorities? In the book First Shot a boy named Rick must get to the bottom of this case about his father. Even if it means he dies trying.
The book starts with Rick moving into his dorm room and meeting with the principal and such. It's Really slow from this point onto the climax, but i think thats because the author wants to keep you guessing about what might happen next. I kind of wanted to stop reading here but it was a book from my brother library and it was due soon so i decided to just keep on trucking instead of just giving up. So i kept reading.
In the next couple chapters i started to notice a pattern. It was almost as if it were repeating itself. Like it went, build up tension within the reader, let it go, and so on and so forth. So it was getting kind of old so i stopped reading the book for awhile. Until one day when i was bored i picked up the book once again. \Maybe for the last time.
The book ended with the killer caught and the boy liberated. I predicted this from the start, so i guess I wasn't that surprisedwhen the ending came forth. Either way i wouldn't mind reading it again, mostly because nothing could stop Rick, not even his own father.
