Reflection on The Pearl

My reflection on The pearl By John Steinbeck is very positive coming from the fact that I loved the book. The reason being that I hate slow books. The Pearl picked up the pace very quickly and so to speak kept up with itself. It was full of action, but not too much, so i liked that he/she did that. I also liked how the book was not humorous as I suspected and it kind of brought a serious tone to a book I thought was going to be very upbeat. Also when I was so called drifting out of the book something happened to catch my interest. Lastly the ending was a surprise and I thought it was very well written and it sort of out spoke itself.
.
The things I didn't like on the other hand was the violence between Juana and Kino. Such as the "domestic violence" and things. I think the lesson to be learned here is that all good things come to and also that good things can make bad things happen. Over all the story wasn't at all bad but there were poorly written parts in my opinion but when you put it all together you get an amazing story.

  1. I like the fact that you had so many opinions of the story but am interesting in kowing why you felt that way. Be sure to always support what you say using examples from the book. By connecting your thoughts with specific evidence from the story, your readers will have a better understanding of why you feel the way you do.
