Brisingir Essay

Have you ever wished you were in a fantasy type realm such as a Sci Fi movie. Well by reading Brisingir, it puts you in world of dragons, magic, and evil. So the start of the book was getting right to the plot and the action. Of course before a real page of the book started, the author explained what had happened in the previous books leading to this one. Which I found very helpful because i had read the other books 4 years before. Anyway the way the book started was awesome i thought and especially the words he used in the book rather than common words such as said and "and". Although it started off well, that was only the beginning of the book.

Deeper into a plot where backstabbing occurs and lives are taken the story seems to lose its "value" so to say,. In other words, it seemed to get boring. Also they kind of gave out the end of the book in the middle by making it obvious as to what was going to happen next and how they would do it and so on and so forth. Overtime the author recovered but painfully slow for my liking. So there were some negatives but i still kept reading. Then something caught my attention. When i said it gave away the ending, they completely caught me off guard.

They completely changed the direction of my train of thought. I thought this was at least one step forward. then i got deeper and deeper into the book then i was done. It got me thinking though. I also liked how Brisingir had a lasting effect on my thoughts. Not in a bad way or anything but it kept me thinking about the book and if there's going to be another one and maybe even what i would do if I were in the situation of the main character. So that was another positive.

Putting all things in the open I thought that Brisingir was a work of art and maybe someday I'll read it again. There were more positives than negatives and if there was a negative the book hid it very well because i could only find a couple of them. Very good book with a high re-read value for me at least. If you like a Sci-Fi kind of book with action, suspense, and dragons, then please pick up this book.
