Patriots Pen Rough Draft
Authors note: Sometimes I’m swayed to believe that our country isn’t doing this right, but who am I to judge? I’m just a thirteen year-old.
The question is “Am I proud of my Country?” Well the answer is yes/no. Yes because we have a surplus of faithful people willing to fight for our country. The brave military soldiers, they go out of their way to fight for our country, and fight for our freedom. That’s what I call a patriot. Our country is home to hopers, innovators, and believers that make thing happen for themselves and each other. America, land of the free home of the brave, I’m proud to be an American. On the other hand though, I sometimes question my own faith in my country. Why are we so involved in everything? Even things that we aren’t supposed to be involved in, take Osama Bin Laden’s death for example. All the people in Times Square and other areas in New York were celebrating like they had just won the Super Bowl or something. It’s not like any of them were involved in carrying out the operation. Also the brutal and senseless killing of humans in America is at a pathetically high number. Two-hundred sixty eight people are shot each day. One-hundred ninety thousand people get shot and possibly killed each year. Only in America, These things are terrible, but it does not sway my thought that things are getting better as we speak. I have no doubt that we can fix it and there is no way that we aren’t doing it right now. I still have faith in my country, but I’m going to lose it if things keep going the way they are. I know and hope we’re working on it but we better do it quickly, because I’m pretty sure time is running out. Fast.
