Did you know there are about 1.2 million daeths a year because of unintentional drowning. when i read Deep Water by William O. Douglas it made me wonder about what he was trying to explain. There were a lot of things I completely loved about the story and very little things I didn't like. First the intro to the story sort of made me know what was going to happen next in terms of the "problem" of the story. Then it quickly threw me off track of what i thought was going to happen by doing some very well written description. Also it made me make a guess on they big W's. Who, what, where, when, and finally how(which is not one of them).
Second, what i think is there is kind of "no plot" so to speak which made it difficult to comprehend the overall "meaning" should i say. It also made it difficult to write about this story. The content of his writing is amazing. His descriptive words made me want to read so much more. The Writing made me feel as if i knew what happend personaly after i read this short story. When the author blends all these things together he makes a awesome non-fictional narritive.
Although the main situation was mostly unclear until the end of the story, although there are many more non-fitional storys on the shleves this is the story i would read many times overr again. Just to understand what he meant by the yellow "tentacles surrounding him and his legs being dead weights and so on and so forth.
All things he used to make the story, in my eye, were almost perfect and i would most definetly read this short story again multiple times before stopping. Its a amazing article about how this man, as a child, was one of the few survivers of death. Awesome story i loved it in every way, and i dont think anyone wouldnt like this story.
It's deep water
